THE ABBEY HOSTS Q TELEVISION NETWORK & CLEAR CHANNEL L.A. FOR STAR STUDDED SUMMER KICK OFF

"Q ON THE MOVE WITH NICK ORAM," AND KIIS-FM CELEBRATE '2005 SUMMER SPLASH TOUR' FOR GAY PRIDE MONTH

West Hollywood, CA – The Abbey’s Finlandia ICE BAR will play host to Q Televison Network and Clear Channel’s KIIS-FM for a Summer ’05 Kick-Off Party – A Gay Pride Month Celebration - on Wednesday, June 15, 2005 from 10pm to closing (following a private reception from 8-10pm).  The Abbey Food & Bar is located at 692 N. Robertson Blvd. in West Hollywood.

“Q on the Move” will host the festivities as the host gets ready to take his show on the road.  Throughout the summer, “Q on the Move,” television’s only travel show geared to the gay and lesbian community, will travel from coast to coast covering the best parties and interviewing the most provocative artists, politicians, athletes, and social activists in the community.   “’Q on the Move’ gives insight into the gay and lesbian world like no other show on television,” says Q Television President and CEO, Frank Olsen.  “This summer Nick is taking the program everywhere from New York to Berlin, Vancouver to New Orleans entertaining and enlightening viewers with the diversity of the gay and lesbian community.” “We’re excited to be part of Q Television’s Summer Kick-Off Party,” says Jim Murphy, Clear Channel’s Vice President of Business Operations.  “Q Television speaks to a young-at-heart demographic, a fun-loving individual – someone who is curious about the world around them and enjoys what it has to offer – the same kind of person who appreciates Clear Channel’s numerous radio brands in the Los Angeles market.”

A Palm Springs desert motif will set the tone as “Q ON THE MOVE” and CLEAR CHANNEL L.A. feature highlights from Jeffrey Sanker’s 15th Annual White Party - Palms Springs this past Easter.  Palm Trees, wading pools, hot boys in swimsuits, gift bags and lots of surprises will round out the night.

“Q On The Move’s 2005 Summer Splash Tour” will travel to Orlando’s Gay Days (May 31 – June 5); Boston (June 11 – 12); New York (June 19 – 26); Germany’s Love Parade (July 9); San Diego (July 25 – 30); Chicago (August 4 – 8); Provincetown Carnival (August 15 – 21); New Orleans Southern Decadence (August 31 – Sept 5); Atlanta (Sept. 15 – 20); and San Francisco’s Folsom Street Fair (Sept 25 – 29).
