ZAGAT GUIDE & AOL CITYGUIDE AGREE:
THE ABBEY IS L.A.'S HOT SPOT!
WEST
HOLLYWOOD, CA (July 14, 2005) - First,
AOL CityGuide voters chose The Abbey-West Hollywood
as the number one bar overall in the Los Angeles metro
area. Now, the buzz continues to build as voters for
the prestigious 2005-06 Zagat Survey confirm it: The
Abbey is L.A.'s
hotspot.
With this week's release of the 2005-06
edition of Zagat's Guide to Los Angeles Nightlife,
the accolades continue with The Abbey Food and Bar
touted as "What's Hot" and "Most Popular."
"Recognition from such a trusted name as
Zagat Guides really is an honor for us," said The Abbey's
owner, David Cooley. "The LA nightlife scene is filled
so many prominent choices and it's a thrill to know
we are pleasing our patrons and serving our community."
Located in the heart of West Hollywood, at 692 N. Robertson Blvd., The Abbey Food and
Bar has become a favorite hangout for locals and visitors
alike, along with celebrities like Janet Jackson and
Christiana Aguilera. Underscoring its emphasis on
community service, The Abbey also hosts numerous charity
events throughout the year, including "The Envelope
Please," its annual Oscar night benefit for APLA and
"Breakfast for the Stars" for AIDS Walk Los Angeles.
Other accolades
include: Best of CitySearch.com for "Best Gay and Lesbian Bar" and
Los Angeles Magazine's "Best Gay Bar to Bring a Straight Friend To," in
its annual 101 Things We Love issue. The West Hollywood
Chamber of Commerce designated The Abbey "Best Restaurant
in 2003," and the WeHo Awards deemed it "Outstanding
Restaurant and Bar" four years running.
