DEBUT OF THE ABBEY'S GAY WALK OF FAME
WITH CHRISTINA AGUILERA
WEST HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - (April 21, 2011) – The Abbey Food and Bar,
known as "The Best Gay Bar in the World," paid tribute to Christina Aguilera and her
contributions to Gay Culture last night as the first honoree in The Abbey's Gay Walk of
Fame. Inspired by old Hollywood traditions, Ms. Aguilera joined The Abbey's Founder,
David Cooley in placing her hands and feet in cement that will live on forever at The
Abbey.
"I share a special bond with my Gay and Lesbian fans. We've supported each other
for years," said Christina Aguilera. "It is such an honor to be the first honoree on The
Abbey's Gay Walk of Fame. This is one of my favorite places and a special destination
for Gays and Lesbians from around the world."
"Christina has been both a supporter of gay rights and a regular at The Abbey for years,"
said David Cooley, Founder of The Abbey. "As the first honoree in The Abbey's Gay
Walk of Fame, she joins Dame Elizabeth Taylor in being immortalized here forever."
The ceremony took place at The Abbey's West Hollywood Premiere, celebrating the
completion of extensive renovations. The Abbey's new look includes a sunken dance
floor surrounded by VIP booths, a sleek DJ platform, a state-of-the-art audio and video
system, new bars, improved movement throughout the space, upgraded bathroom
facilities and a larger kitchen space to accommodate The Abbey's new menu.
