The Abbey to Host a Marie Antoinette Inspired New Year’s Bash Celebrating the Title and a Successful 2010
WEST HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - (December 17, 2010) - The Abbey was voted by readers of AOL’S CITY’S BEST as the “Best GLBT Nightlife” destination in Los Angeles. The honor comes on the heels of being named Logo’s “Best Gay Bar in the World” for the second consecutive year, and just days before The Abbey hosts the biggest New Year’s Celebration in its 20-year history.
On New Year’s Eve, The Abbey will celebrate a year of prosperity with, “Let Them Eat Cake.” The Abbey will be transformed into Marie Antoinette's Royal Palace for an evening of breathtaking and period inspired performances, living art, aerialists and a new two story DJ Booth with DJ Dawnna Montel.
VIP Wrist Bands can be purchased in advance for $100, which includes unlimited premium drinks and appetizers inside the Ice Bar. There will be a countdown and champagne toast with cupcakes at midnight. There is never a cover at The Abbey and guests are welcome without wristbands.

The “Best GLBT Nightlife” and “Best Gay Bar in the World” titles were awarded just as The Abbey began renovations. The Abbey is open during the renovations, which will improve the general flow, service and bathroom experience. The renovations, which are happening in phases, will be complete in early 2011, just in time for the end of The Abbey’s 20th year of business and 21st birthday party.
